So I feel compelled to tell you about a special I saw on The History Channel last week that essentially listed the top 6 ways our world could, and most likely would, end. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I saw it and because I can't remember the exact title, I can't find the information to share with you from their website. Thank goodness the internet exists to fan the flames and pick up where the special left off. Here is the list from what I remember, the numbers in the middle may be swapped around a bit as I am not really sure which came first but, does it really matter?
#6 We'll be taken over by technology and robots
#5 Asteroid
#4 Volcano
#3 Nuclear War
#2 Disease
#1 Global Warming
The funny thing is, as much as I became obsessed with thinking about most of these things that are out of control, I realized how brilliant it was for them to end on Global Warming which is such a hot topic these days and it made me feel like I can make an imact and change the end of days in one way at least. But then what about the others? Does it matter if we change Global Warming when an asteroid is going to head straight for our atmosphere in 2030? Should we just say screw it and live it up because if the asteroid doesn't hit us #6, #4, #3, and #2 issues surely will occur at some point. Aren't we just biding our time? I assume the point they were trying to make with Global Warming was just that, we need to help ourselves buy just a little bit more time on this earth because you never REALLY do know how it is going to end (or when).
