Four more days until production begins!!  Met with Biz about the storyboards today, and they look great.  I can't wait to get things rolling.  The 80s wardrobe is going to be fantastic and I can't wait to play in the University of Michigan costume stock on Wednesday!  It seems that the days aren't long enough to get things done...

It was a productive day though, secured funding, a composer, extras for next weekends funeral/cemetary scenes.  Things are falling into place nicely... and now I must fall into a trance-like sleep.  I'm exhausted!! Gnight.

The crew had a meeting today.  I'm super exicited about the creativity and energy of my crew.  I think this is going to be a great, easy-going, and fun production!!  I sent out the casting assignments to the actors and they're all in and excited to begin.  I can't wait to start shooting next week and hope we can keep up the momentum and energy!

There's still a lot to be done:

- Secure more funding to help with production design.

- Find hurse and casket for funeral and cemetary scenes.

- Prod des, prod des, prod des... make the space look 80s!

- Anchor down storyboards, make a shot list, and shot by shot shooting schedule.

- Rehearse with Gemma and mother for the beginning of shooting. 

But it's all good stuff and we'll get it done somehow.

Gemma's Green Balloon is a short fim about a girl's first experience with death.  Gemma Kuhn is an energetic five year old girl who must attend the funeral for the first time, where she is haunted by the image of death.  Her only consolation is a balloon that she recieves at the funeral, and which she develops an odd fascination with.  Concerned, her mother tries to intervene, but when she encounters death again, how will Gemma cope.

A film of 7-8 minutes, Gemmas Green Balloon will be shot over two weekends around Livonia, Michigan.  We have a talented cast and crew and are in the last stages of pre-production.  Come follow along with us in the amazing, sometimes trying, journey of being a filmmaker.
